New screenshots of “Diablo 3” have been released along with Blizzard’s latest podcast, which show the user interface and the pants slot that lead designer Jay Wilson mentioned to us last year. No rainbows, though. Take a look.
We’re deep in the heart of convention country this time of year, surrounded on all sides by QuakeCon, PAX, Games Com and, of course, BlizzCon, which is going down in Anaheim on this Friday, running through the weekend.
Rumors have already started spreading about the content of BlizzCon 2009, but apparently you guys aren’t quite ready to get kicked in the gnomes quite yet, as there wasn’t a whole lot of support for today’s Twitter poll, asking what you’re hoping to see out of BlizzCon 2009.
Personally, as much as I enjoyed “StarCraft,” and as much as I appreciate how slick “Wings of Liberty” is looking, I’ve always been more of a “Diablo” guy. I’m not looking for a 2009 release date or anything, but some inkling that we’ll be hacking and slashing sometime before next fall would be nice. Or, you know, a new race announcement, which seems more likely.
Oh, yeah, and it’s probably about time for another “WoW” expansion. “World of WarCraft: Cataclysm” seems to be the likely fit, but hey, we’ve been duped before!
fizzbang @multiplayers Definitely excited to see what Cataclysm is bringing to WoW. I seem to be the only person who really loves what he’s heard.

The penultimate class reveal for “Diablo 3″ was unveiled at BllizzCon 2009 today. The Monk will join the already announced Barbarian, Witch Doctor and Wizard. In case you can’t guess, he’s the guy on the right.
As with most Monk classes in RPGs, this Monk will focus on hand-to-hand attacks, but also has the ability to weild weapons. Oh, and he’s got magic to boot! Think of him like a Buddhist Druid.
The Monk should be playable on the show floor, so we should be getting reports back shortly on just what to expect. Oh, and hopefully Blizzard’s website will start working again so we can grab a nice high-rez trailer too!

‘WoW: Cataclysm’ and ‘Diablo 3′ Release Date – BlizzCon 2009 Dream Announcements
